Becoming popular in the 17th-century snuff making came to Sharrow around 1740 when Thomas Wilson started his snuff mill.
Today little has changed in production methods and Sharrow snuff is still very popular and enjoyed by many people.

With the perfume aspect being very noticeable. The tobacco base is less prominent, it provides supporting tones more than overt flavour.
